Tae Kwon-Do is an ancient form of unarmed combat practiced
for many centuries in Korea. It became perfected to its present form by Major General Choi Hong Hi (1918-2002).
Tae Kwon-Do translated means "The
way of the feet and the hands" and it is proven to be the most powerful form of self defence.
I have been practicing Tae Kwon-Do since the age of 7,and i am a member of
the association TAGB which is the largest martial arts group in Europe
with over 25,000 members.
I train at Wolverhampton Tae Kwon-Do which has clubs in Codsall,Willenhall,Wednesfield
and Perton.I like to train as often as i can, this is usually 5 nights a week. The training is made up of patterns, sparring
and fitness work.My instructors are Mr. Paul Walker and Mr. Mike Jones who are both 5th degree black belts.I owe them both
a big thankyou for all they have taught me.As well as club training i also train with the England Squad, this is in
Nottingham and the sessions last for 3 hours and this is once a week, my instructor there is Mr.Kenny Walton 7th degree
black belt.
I like to enter as many competitions during the year as i can, these are both
at International and National level.I compete in the individual patterns event and also the individual sparring event
at which i am currently in the middleweight division.
By continuing to train hard and regular i hope to progress as far as i can
in Tae Kwon-Do and hopefully become an instructor one day.
